Fire Safety Inspector

Position: Fire Safety Inspector at City
Join the City of Hamilton as a Fire Safety Inspector with the Hamilton Fire Department. This role requires focus on building inspections and community education initiatives regarding fire codes.

Reporting to the Chief Fire Prevention Officer, you will be instrumental in conducting inspections, enforcing fire codes, and participating in legal proceedings. Engaging with the community through educational programs to enhance fire safety awareness will be a key aspect of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform building inspections for fire code compliance

• Enforce Municipal and Provincial By-laws effectively

• Prepare inspection reports and support legal actions

• Facilitate community fire safety education sessions

• Investigate complaints regarding fire safety concerns

Requirements:

• Fire Protection Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent

• Strong background in educational program delivery

• Comfort in using Windows software for documentation

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Valid Class “G” Driver’s License required
