Position SummaryThe HHS IT department (HITS) is looking for an M365 Application Specialist to join our Application Support team. The Application Specialist is responsible for the administration of software solutions, including configuration, design, development of custom solutions using a variety of development tools and database technologies, and ensuring standards and processes are applied. They will compile user requirements, analyze, specify, and validate client needs, interview stakeholders, and apply analytical and project management skills to ensure deliverables are met.
The role includes analysis and troubleshooting of complex technical problems and optimization of applications and business processes. The specialist also provides technical support and user education for many software solutions Microsoft 365 Applications Specialist will deploy, configure, support, and optimize Microsoft 365 applications and services such as Teams, SharePoint Online, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Power BI, and Copilot Agents.
This role ensures secure, scalable, and effective use of collaboration and low-code platforms, driving user adoption and operational efficiency in the M365 ecosystem. - Successful completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in IT or Health Care related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience working in an IT related field (required)
- 3+ years of experience in Health Care IT (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with M365 administration (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of M365 applications and best practices (preferred)
- Experience supporting applications, including servers and patching (preferred)
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (preferred)
- Planning, analytical and interpretative skills (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong commitment to the client; professional attitude in demanding situations (preferred)
- Initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem solving to implement project plans and resolve issues (preferred)
- Proficiency in time management and ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines (preferred)
