Position: GIS Technician for City Planning

The City of Hamilton seeks a GIS Planning Technician to contribute to its spatial analysis and data reporting needs. In this role, you will maintain and analyze GIS data, create thematic maps, and prepare data visualizations. Your expertise will help enhance planning and operational decision-making within Hamilton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and analyze GIS departmental data with ArcGIS Pro

• Perform quality assurance checks for data validity

• Compile and prepare diverse data sources for mapping

• Create custom maps and dashboards for planning reports

• Assist with geo-spatial software support and troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Diploma in GIS or related field with relevant experience

• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS tools and database management

• Ability to perform data analysis and quality checks

• Experience with Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suites

• Familiarity with AODA-compliant standards
