Position Summary:
St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) is embarking on a modernization of its business applications through the deployment of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) solution.
The first phase of the initiative - the Business Transformation project – involved replacing and modernizing software platforms supporting the Human Resources, Finance, Strategic Sourcing teams and the Occupational Health and Safety Office. The hospital is now seeking to implement an integrated solution to improve budgeting, analytics, and reporting functionality as a second phase to the Business Transformation project.
Ultimately the goals of the project are to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes such as:
Improving information flow through increased level of data integration
Supporting more informed decision-making through better access to consolidated data adaptive planning capabilities and advanced analytics.
Increasing empowerment of staff through the deployment of self-service tools.
Improving use of hospital resources to support better care for our patients and provide greater value to other stakeholders.
SJHH will require Project Analysts to support the implementation of the solution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or recognized equivalent required1 to 3 years' experience in healthcare is preferred
Basic project management knowledge and experience working on projects and/or basic working knowledge of applications/systems that support client groups in such areas as Health Care, Finance, and Human Resources etc.
Demonstrated high-level of verbal and written communication skills required for moderate intra organizational contacts regarding normal business with staff from various disciplines who possess varying degrees of technical experience
Understanding of complex technical and operational concepts, principles, and practices
Ability to build consensus by listening and understanding different points of view, proposing acceptable alternatives, and influencing people’s opinions
Experience in facilitation of design sessions; a strong influencer capable of shaping opinions and achieving consensus
Capable of finding creative alternatives that satisfy the needs of key stakeholdersA team player willing to go the extra mile to ensure team and project success
Responsibilities:
Understands and documents the existing business processes using business process design tools such as process flow diagrams.
Develops expert knowledge of the new system, the business processes the system supports, and vendor and industry recommended best practices.
Works with subject matter experts to design new business processes or to modify existing business processes that have a good fit with the new system.
Analyzes, assesses, and documents requirements and produces written abstracts.
Identifies information and data requirements necessary to define solutions
In cases where new business processes cannot be designed to exactly fit the vendor recommended best practices, documents the gaps, creates a strategy to bridge the gap, obtains approval for any necessary customizations, and monitors development and testing of the customization.
Creates, maintains, and monitors the execution of the project and creates documentation using the frameworks defined in the Project Management Office’s methodology.
Facilitates information gathering and requirements sessions across multi-disciplinary teams.
Assists with the identification of training needs and translating them into practical courses and programs. Assists with training and change management activities as required.
