Engage visitors as a Historical Interpreter at Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum. Deliver captivating tours and educational programs that showcase the rich history of Ancaster and Hamilton.
As a Historical Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing meaningful historical interpretations while guiding visitors through exhibits at both Fieldcote Memorial Park and Griffin House.
Your role includes research, program development, and ensuring visitor safety. This position requires excellent communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of diverse community experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide historical tours and interpretation to visitors
• Develop and implement engaging public programs
• Research historical facts for various exhibits
• Monitor and ensure visitor safety during tours
• Assist with promotional activities and events
Requirements:
• Experience in historical interpretation or heritage
• Strong knowledge of Black history and culture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media
• Valid Class G Driver’s Licence for site visits
