The selected trainee will operate within the Bureau of Transportation Mobility's Central Dispatch Unit (CDU) at the New Jersey State Police Troop 'C' Communication Center. You will handle critical emergency calls and work alongside law enforcement and environmental protection agencies. Duties involve transmitting radio communications, database entries, and utilizing specialized equipment for effective messaging.
Key Responsibilities:
• Answer telephone and radio calls for NJDOT personnel
• Transmit radio communications following FCC regulations
• Make entries and modifications in CDU database
• Use computer equipment to send messages to agencies
• Work in a 24/7 emergency dispatching environment
Requirements:
• No experience or education required
• Typing speed of 35 WPM recommended
• Availability for overtime and emergency work
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Residency in New Jersey required after appointment
