Custodian

Position: Custodian at McMaster University
Enhance campus cleanliness as a Custodian at McMaster University, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This role involves various cleaning tasks and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Custodian, you’ll support a safe and clean environment within university facilities. Key duties include performing cleaning tasks, floor and carpet care, waste disposal, and assisting with furniture movement.

Your role is essential in maintaining hygiene and operational effectiveness for all university users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute dusting, vacuuming, and glass cleaning tasks

• Perform floor and carpet maintenance including sophisticated techniques

• Assist with event setups and furniture relocations

• Conduct post-construction and safety cleaning operations

• Update cleaning logs to ensure compliance with university standards

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• At least 6 months of related custodial experience preferred

• Knowledge of health and safety protocols essential

• Ability to perform snow removal and salting during winter

• Skills in effective communication and teamwork
