Housekeeping Aide at Extendicare

Extendicare is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to support our long-term care facilities. This position requires the ability to effectively operate cleaning equipment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control principles. Your contributions will directly impact the comfort and well-being of our residents, making them a key part of our caregiving team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness in resident areas with daily cleaning

• Operate washing machines, dryers, and vacuum cleaners

• Prepare rooms for new residents with deep cleaning

• Manage inventory and reorder supplies as needed

• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 10 Technical Competencies

• Experience in an institutionalized setting preferred

• Knowledge of WHMIS and infection control practices

• Effective communication skills in English

• Ability to safely handle heavy cleaning tasks
