Casual School Caretaker

Support clean, secure schools as a Casual Assistant Caretaker with HWDSB across Hamilton communities. Work on call in varied afternoon or daytime shifts.
This Casual Assistant Caretaker assignment supports multiple Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board schools. You will complete cleaning duties, maintain facility security, and assist with minor maintenance or repairs when required. Customer service and basic computer skills are part of the requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Dust, sanitize, mop, scrub, polish, and vacuum school areas
Operate floor buffers, auto scrubbers, snow blowers, and mowers
Lock facilities, set alarms, turn out lights, and collect garbage
Assist with school activities, rentals, furniture, and equipment setup
Report repairs, maintenance, vandalism, and maintain required logs
Requirements:
Previous private, commercial, or industrial cleaning experience
Basic English reading, speaking, comprehension, and computer skills
Customer service experience and ability to work respectfully
Physical ability to lift, bend, twist, push, pull, and climb
Ability to work alone and travel between Hamilton-area schools
Bring cleaning, security, equipment operation, and customer service skills to HWDSB schools throughout Hamilton and surrounding communities.
