Arcelor Mittal Dofasco, one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, is seeking a manufacturing applications engineer to work in the Process Automation Department. The role involves developing, maintaining, and improving software applications and data systems that support our advanced manufacturing processes and help reduce GHG emissions.

Arcelor Mittal Dofasco operates a world‑class computer‑integration manufacturing facility in Hamilton. The Process Automation Department is responsible for large‑scale, high‑impact computer software applications that are integral to manufacturing processes, from raw materials to finished products.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with professional experience in software development, working with automated systems, manufacturing operations or operations technology, and a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Physics or Chemical Engineering. The position title will be appropriate to the candidate’s qualifications and work experience.

• Participate in the development and support of software‑based applications
• Participate in the development and support of manufacturing data collection systems
• Support cross‑functional teams to identify and develop new applications and data systems
• Monitor and improve applications to enhance performance
• Stay current on latest relevant technologies and trends

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Formal software training and experience
• Experience with Object‑oriented programming using C++, C# or Java
• Capable of analyzing technical information and quickly learning new technical skills
• Advanced skills in problem investigation, analysis and solving
• Highly collaborative team player
• Professional work experience

• Experience working in manufacturing
