About the role:

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Scheduler and Planner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling production activities to ensure optimal utilization of resources while meeting customer demand and maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and effective problem‑solving abilities, along with close collaboration with key departments including Forecaster, Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

This role will work from the Rockton site 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Scheduling:
    • Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and resource availability.
    • Adjust schedules in response to changes in demand, production delays, or material shortages.
  • Work closely with the Forecaster to incorporate accurate demand forecasts into production planning.
  • Coordinate with the Sales team to understand customer requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing department to ensure timely acquisition of materials and components.
  • Communicate effectively with the Manufacturing team to optimize production processes and address any issues.
  • Resource Management:
    • Monitor equipment availability and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure that necessary materials are available to support production schedules effectively.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future production needs, and improve scheduling efficiency.
    • Prepare reports on production performance, scheduling effectiveness, and resource utilization.
  • Leadership and Problem Solving:
    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills by guiding and motivating cross‑functional teams.
    • Address and resolve any scheduling or production issues that arise, employing effective problem‑solving techniques.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team input and innovation in scheduling practices.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance scheduling and planning efficiency.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to support operational initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a scheduler/planner, (10+ years) or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in motivating teams.
