The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our client’s plant on the night shift (8 hour shifts), leading a team of technicians to ensure equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and safe work practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, including a valid trade certification, and experience in a manufacturing environment leading the company’s skilled trades team in ensuring the optimal performance of their production and facility equipment.
Supervise, schedule, and support maintenance staff in mechanical, electrical, and general facility maintenance tasksPlan and oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtimeEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policiesTroubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues in a timely mannerCoordinate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing needsMaintain maintenance records, inventory of parts, and order supplies as neededLead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliabilityTrain and mentor tradespeople and apprenticesExperience
5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, including supervisory or team lead experienceExperience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM practicesQualifications
Valid Ontario trade certification (e.g., Millwright 433A, Electrician 442A/309A, or equivalent)Strong knowledge of packaging or manufacturing equipment (e.g., conveyors, PLCs, pneumatic systems)Proven leadership and organizational skills with a focus on safety and qualityExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesFamiliarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of applicable ESA, OHSA, and TSSA standardsEducation
