THE ROLE

Our client, a well-established construction manufacturer in Hamilton, is looking for a Senior Structural Fitter to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on role for an experienced fitter who can work independently, support junior team members when needed, and take pride in high-quality structural work. You will be joining a tight-knit, experienced crew in a clean, organized shop with steady work and long-term potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 10 plus years of traditional fitting experience
  • Fit independently with extensive experience in tooling and jigs
  • Take on leadership and guidance as needed
  • Safely operate an overhead crane to move materials and equipment
  • Follow safety rules and wear PPE at all times
  • Choose the right tools and equipment for each job to ensure good results
  • Work well with the team to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Take care of tools and equipment to keep them in good working condition
  • Solve problems and find solutions when welding issues arise
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 + years of experience of fitting within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficiency in FCAW (Flux Core)
  • Strong welding and fitting abilities
  • Experience working with thick gauge material up to 3 inches, multipass, structural steel
  • Ability to operate various welding tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the welding industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments
