Steel Supervisor at Ontario Shipyards

Lead a dynamic team as a Steel Supervisor at Ontario Shipyards. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership in steel fabrication, assembly, and installation, ensuring compliance and safety in a maritime environment.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Steel Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing structural steel component operations. Key responsibilities include guiding a crew on-site, driving production targets, and managing safety protocols. This position requires a proactive approach to welding and metal operations to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Ontario OHSA in all operations

• Actively manage and mentor your crew during tasks

• Oversee Stick (SMAW) and Flux-Core (FCAW) welding operations

• Operate and assist with metal fabrication machinery

• Lead safety meetings and conduct site inspections

Requirements:

• Valid CWB Certification required

• 7+ years of structural steel fabrication experience

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a heavy trade

• Red Seal Trade Certification preferred

• Experience in marine industry setting is a plus
