Production Superintendent
Overview
We are looking for a Production Superintendent for our Hannon location. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Superintendent leads and develops a high performance team of supervisors and unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and line efficiencies for plant operations.
What You’ll Do- Lead and supervise a team of supervisors and unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and productivity in plant operations
- Assume responsibility for all plant operations in the absence of the Operations Manager
- Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OHS standards; identify and control hazards; ensure workers use prescribed safety equipment
- Maintain and enforce quality standards including GMP and good housekeeping protocols; support operations in customer and third-party audits
- Develop plans to achieve annual KPI objectives for safety, product quality, efficiencies and cost; provide direction and support to continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement procedures to measurably reduce the risk of producing non-conforming product
- Coach, develop and manage the performance of direct reports, emphasizing frequent communication, feedback and teamwork
- Plan effective and efficient scheduling of labour, equipment and materials for converting operations
- Lead significant production productivity and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with Atlantic Operating Systems (AOS)
- Foster strong relationships and communication with internal and external departments and stakeholders
- Administer and apply the collective agreement and Company policies/procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Operations leadership/supervisory experience within the corrugated packaging sector is highly desired; experience in a high-volume consumer goods manufacturing environment is a prerequisite
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related systems (corrugated business systems such as CTI and Amtech)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to achieve results

Hiring Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year. A candidate’s experience and knowledge may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
