Full-Time Yard Labourer in Metal Recycling

Join a dynamic team in a busy metal recycling facility as a full-time Yard Labourer. This role emphasizes heavy lifting and sorting, with a strong focus on customer assistance and service.

We are seeking a reliable and punctual Yard Labourer to work at our recycling yard located 20 km south of Whitehorse. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Responsibilities include sorting scrap metals, providing customer support, and maintaining a clean yard. Knowledge of scrap metal is an asset, but training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exemplary customer service and assist with vehicle unloading

• Manually sort ferrous and non-ferrous metals accurately

• Operate recycling machinery and mechanical tools

• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization for safety

• Assist with general maintenance and other assigned duties

Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Proficient in English communication

• CSA approved steel-toed footwear required

• Knowledge of Yukon recycling practices is a plus
