Orlick Industries is an automotive parts supplier producing aluminum components for many varieties of vehicles, with Honda being our largest customer.
Melt Room OperatorPosition Summary:
The Melt Room Operator is responsible for maintaining safe and continuous operation of the melting furnace to produce high quality aluminum ingots in support of die cast production. This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to drive a forklift and to work with molten metal in front of industrial furnaces.

Schedule:
Monday to Thursday, 10 hour weekly rotating shifts (Days 7:00am - 5:00pm; Afternoons 5:00pm - 3:00am)

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Furnace charging; working with a furnace at 1400F to properly melt aluminum to a molten state.
- Ensuring the holding furnaces are operating at their best capacity by: charge well fluxing, fluxing of holding bath, routine channel cleaning (rodding), cleaning the floor of reverb from build-up of metal, and taking spectrometer samples.
- Inspecting all scrap bin contents before charging to ensure they are dry and free of debris.
- Using a forklift in a safe manner; ensuring valid license is maintained for forklift.
- Placing ingots onto the stacker, strapping bundles with metal banding, and applying recycled aluminum control tag.
- Completing all necessary paperwork/documentation and utilizing the appropriate computerized systems/ readings.
- Housekeeping of work area; keeping it clean and free of debris.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience working in a foundry
- Forklift license preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Adaptable to change.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Team player; able to work well with others.
