Industrial waste operations in Thunder Bay involve loading, unloading, machinery use, and safe processing of received materials. Local candidates are required.
As a Technician, you will handle, consolidate, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste at the Processing Facilities. The position combines moderately labour-intensive, repetitive work with paperwork, hazard assessments, and equipment operation. It calls for physical fitness, communication, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Confirm incoming waste meets acceptance protocol
- Load and unload trucks and containers
- Operate processing equipment when required
- Follow safe operating procedures at all times
- Submit completed paperwork accurately
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability for moderately labour-intensive repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Skid steer, loader, excavator, or forklift experience is an asset
