Ability to work 12‑hour shifts with a variable schedule.
Rate of Pay: $27.85–$31.75 (starting salary determined by factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions).

Emmanuel House Hospice is a ten‑bed palliative care facility located in Hamilton that offers a home‑like environment for individuals nearing the end of their lives. Support and care are provided in a team‑based approach, including personal support workers, nursing, physicians, spiritual and psychosocial support. We embrace a person‑centered holistic model of care and the importance of providing dignity at the end of life.
What You’ll Bring to Our Team- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BCLS certificate.
- Experience working with individuals and their families in end‑of‑life or with a life‑limiting illness.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work with evidence‑based practices related to pain and symptom management and end‑of‑life care.
- Previous palliative care experience in hospital‑based palliative care, hospice, or other healthcare settings with knowledge of the death/dying process.
- Ability to work as a member of an inter‑disciplinary team.
- Enhanced Fundamentals of Palliative Care (completed or actively pursuing) – asset.
- Resourceful problem‑solver with strong communication, interpersonal skills, excellent time‑management and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Committed to anti‑racist/anti‑oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd.
- Fluency in a language in addition to English – asset.
- Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Support for continuing education and professional development.
