Join Good Shepherd as a Registered Practical Nurse dedicated to palliative care at Emmanuel House. This role focuses on supporting dignity and hope for patients nearing end-of-life.
At Emmanuel House in Hamilton, you will deliver essential nursing care in a ten-bed hospice facility. Candidates must show expertise in assessment and pain management, working effectively in a team environment. This position emphasizes a commitment to holistic care and strong communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing assessment and care for hospice patients
• Collaborate with diverse team members for quality patient support
• Implement evidence-based practices in pain and symptom management
• Support spiritual and psychosocial care for patients and families
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols in patient care
Requirements:
• Nurse graduate, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• BCLS certification and experience in palliative settings
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Engaged in continuous professional education
• Knowledge of anti-racist practices is a plus
