Alexander Place is a fully accredited long‑term care home in Waterdown, Ontario, serving 128 residents. The community is known for its natural beauty, wetland trails, and local amenities such as unique shops, diverse restaurants, and community events.
Join our team as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)!
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Care, the RPN supports the Registered Nurse in coordinating care, overseeing designated nursing personnel, and executing tasks as delegated. Responsibilities include delivering direct care according to established care plans, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of resident information, facilitating orientation for new team members and residents, and participating in assigned committees. The role also applies quality improvement and risk management principles and manages supplies and the physical environment.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51).
Experience in a long‑term care (gerontology) setting is an asset.
Competent in care planning and coordination within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated use of current care technology.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ensures all MOH and MLTC requirements are met.
Good communication skills.
Active interest in ongoing education, training, and professional development.
Computer literacy.
