Southern Cross Hamilton Hospital is a well-equipped private surgical hospital based in central Hamilton, proudly providing a wide range of surgical specialties to the wider Waikato community for many years. Our hospital has been extensively expanded and upgraded and now incorporates eight fully equipped operating theatres, 40 inpatient beds and a purpose-built Day Surgery Unit. We offer a range of specialties, including orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, spine, and general surgery specialties.
Comfortable facilities, combined with the very latest in technology and on-site support services, enable independent credentialled medical practitioners to undertake a wide range of procedures. These include routine investigations to complex surgery, with their expertise supported by caring, professional nursing teams.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience   Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand practising certificate
At least 3 years’ experience in an operating theatre setting
Demonstrated clinical competence and confidence working across perioperative roles
Proven capability in both scrub and circulating positions
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
Able to remain composed, organised, and effective within a busy theatre environment
Dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
Flexible and able to adapt to different specialties and evolving theatre schedules
Orthopaedic experience would be advantageous
Previous exposure to private healthcare settings is beneficial
