St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton seeks a Registered Practical Nurse to provide specialized psychiatric care. Work with adults facing severe mental illness in a collaborative and supportive environment, scheduled across various shifts.

Join the Schizophrenia & Community Integration Service team as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse. In this role, you'll utilize your psychiatric nursing knowledge to assess and implement care for patients with complex needs. Your focus on therapeutic relationships and reducing restraints is essential to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric nursing care to adults with mental illness

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions

• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for client-centered care

• Document patient care according to standards

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Completion of an RPN accredited program

• CPR certification and Asepsis Techniques required

• Minimum one year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred

• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and crisis intervention skills
