In this role at SJHH, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team, delivering quality nursing care to patients in an acute mental health setting. This position requires strong knowledge of acute psychiatric nursing and the ability to support patients with complex mental illnesses through person-centered and recovery-oriented approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to patients
• Conduct assessments, organize treatment plans, and document care
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Model professionalism and support decision-making processes
• Foster a supportive healing environment for patients and families
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 2-3 years of experience in acute mental health nursing
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
