Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for the Schizophrenia Orchard 2 unit. In this part-time role, you will apply your psychiatric nursing skills, assist in patient assessments, and deliver comprehensive care. A commitment to reducing the use of restraints and seclusion is essential while working as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients
• Assess and implement effective treatment plans
• Facilitate therapeutic relationships with patients
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for client-centered care
• Document nursing interventions and patient progress
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Completion of a Registered Practical Nurse program
• At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR and Medication Administration certification
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and the Mental Health Act
