This role at the Forensic Psychiatry Program involves working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver specialized nursing care. You will implement therapeutic interventions, conduct assessments, and support patient recovery while maintaining excellence in nursing standards. Commitment to trauma-informed care is essential, alongside addressing the needs of mentally disordered adult offenders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care across treatment settings
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
• Organize and facilitate therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate within an inter-professional team
• Model leadership in working with patients and families
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum one year of mental health nursing experience
• CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing preferred
• Crisis Prevention Training completion required
• Proficient in risk assessment and conflict resolution
