* Position Summary:

** The Registered Practical Nurse under the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Department of Nursing functions as a member of the Women’s Health and Newborn Care Program in the 2 Fontbonne Clinic. Responsible to provide preventative educational and/or supportive care. Basic knowledge decision making and communication techniques are employed in assessing planning and implementing nursing care.

* Qualifications:

* • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required  
• CPR certificate required  
• PALS and/or NRP certificate preferred  
• Breastfeeding Certificate from a recognized program preferred  
• Minimum of 4 years recent nursing experience in women’s health and Newborn care and/ or pediatrics  
• Preferred minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a high-volume outpatient clinic environment  
• Phlebotomy training and experience required  
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Baby Friendly Initiative as it relates to nursing practice within the clinic and hospital settings  
• Ability to communicate effectively maintaining good interpersonal relationships  
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize problem solve and manage workload in a fast paced high volume clinic setting  
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team including physicians nurses clerical staff allied health professionals and medical learners  
• Experience with computers data entry and patient information system
