Harbinger Network has partnered with a leading a custom CNC machining shop specializing in precision, low-to-medium volume work where quality matters as much as speed. We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector who takes pride in doing things right the first time and who enjoys working closely with machining, engineering, and production teams to ensure consistent, high-quality parts.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands machining processes, tight tolerances, and the realities of a shop-floor environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined components to ensure conformance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, including GD&T
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment (these will be brought to the interview!)
- Support root cause analysis, non-conformance reporting, and corrective actions
- Work closely with machinists and supervisors to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Maintain inspection records and support audits as required
- Uphold and continuously improve quality standards and inspection processes
- Exercise authority to stop production when quality concerns arise
- 3-5 years previous experience in a quality inspection or quality assurance role within a CNC machining or custom machining environment
- Strong understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, multi-axis machining)
- Ability to inspect parts with tight tolerances (±0.001" or tighter)
- Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T
- Comfortable working independently on the shop floor
- Experience with aerospace, automotive, or high-precision custom parts is an asset
- Experience working within a formal quality system (ISO 9000/9001)
- Familiarity with inspection documentation such as FAIRs, NCRs, MRBs, and CAPAs
- Experience with CMM operation and a huge bonus if you can program using Calypso software
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and quality-driven
- Confident communicating with machinists, engineers, and leadership
- Collaborative mindset — focused on problem-solving, not policing
- Comfortable balancing quality requirements with production realities
- Challenging, non-repetitive work in a custom machining environment
- Competitive compensation starting at $24 for schooling only experience and up from there

- Rotating overtime on Saturdays (likely 1x/mth will you work on saturday)
