Night Shift Food Safety Inspector

Night-shift Food Safety Inspectors apply HACCP and sanitation expertise at Maple Leaf Foods’ Heritage facility. Verify equipment, processes, and records.

This FSQA Inspector supports compliance with food safety and quality systems across assigned production areas. Responsibilities include pre-operational inspections, environmental sampling, audit support, and HACCP monitoring. The position also supports corrective actions, sanitation verification, product holds, and employee coaching.

• Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and verify sanitation records
• Perform ATP, TPC, Listeria, allergen, and environmental swabbing
• Support SQF, customer, internal, and certification audits
• Monitor HACCP requirements and issue corrective actions
• Verify sanitation practices, line inspections, and chemical concentrations

• Bachelor of Science or food safety diploma, or equivalent experience
• One to two years of preferred food industry quality assurance experience
• Understanding of sanitation, SOPs, HACCP, CCPs, GMPs, and prerequisite programs
• Strong Microsoft Office, organization, planning, and communication skills
• HACCP certification and SAP or LIMS knowledge are assets
