Take part in the 2026 archaeology field season at Stantec as a Fieldwork Technician in Hamilton, Ontario. Participate in critical outdoor projects while adhering to safety and ethical standards.
As a member of Stantec’s Archaeology team, you will execute various physical field duties, including testing, excavation, and artifact documentation, across diverse locations in Ontario.
This role offers the chance to collaborate with skilled professionals while working outdoors, often requiring travel and overnight stays. You will learn directly from licensed archaeologists, contributing to significant cultural resource management projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out archaeological site excavation and surveys
• Collect artifacts and document archaeological findings
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Support licensed archaeologists in the field
• Work collaboratively with Indigenous communities
Requirements:
• Experience in outdoor, physically demanding work
• Willingness to travel within Ontario and stay overnight
• A full G driver’s license is preferred
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Eagerness to develop new skills
