Reporting to the Senior Manager, R&D Capabilities and Excellence, this technician supports development from concept through full-scale production. The work includes approved formulations, pilot plant trials, sample preparation, analytical testing, and data collection. Accuracy, traceable records, and adherence to procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate pilot plant equipment for approved batch trials
Prepare ingredients, samples, equipment, and materials
Conduct analytical, organoleptic, and sensory testing
Compile data and complete simple technical reports
Maintain clean, ready laboratory and pilot facilities
Requirements:
College diploma in food science or related discipline
Knowledge of formulations, ingredient functionality, and processing principles
Ability to perform batch calculations and unit conversions
Working knowledge of food safety, GMPs, sanitation, and laboratory safety
Valid G2 licence, daily car access, and lifting ability
Support food innovation through formulation, testing, pilot equipment operation, and accurate technical records in Hamilton.
