Description Our client in the aerospace industry is seeking AME's to join their team in Hamilton, ON. Salary Range:$37.28 To $44.75 Hourly
Note:
$2,500 Signing Bonus for Licensed AMEs & Earn $2,500 per Endorsement (up to
5)
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to an AME-M Shift Lead, the AME-M Level is a licensed mechanic responsible for performing line and heavy maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The AME-M is expected to be able to demonstrate his/her capability to understand and perform the following functions under varying levels of supervision:
Technical
Display thorough working knowledge of aircraft systems on multiple aircraft including
Air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, pneumaticsEngage in basic trouble shooting on assigned tasksAircraft servicing and operations
Complete daily inspectionsReceive and depart aircraftFamiliarity with the functional operation of the aircraft and perform run ups from right seatPerform independent critical and non-critical systems checks (i.e. oxygen, fuel, batteries)Safely operate all ground equipmentTowing aircraft – able to perform all positionsComplete basic inspection tasks
Inspection of aircraft in accordance with service bulletins, airworthiness directives and aircraft manualsInspection and assessment of aircraft components and airframe including engines, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems to locate defects or other problems in accordance with appropriate documentsAircraft maintenance and repair
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged componentsSource appropriate tooling, test equipment or ground support equipmentMaintain engines and components including fuel systems, anti-ice, ignition, fire extinguishing, exhaust, oil and engine indicating systemsMaintain aircraft systems and components including landing gear, airframe fuel, hydraulic and high pressure pneumatic, flight control, cabin environment, ice/rain protection, fire protection/detection, and doors/interiors and emergency equipmentReplace or repair worn, defective, or damaged componentsAbility to measure cable tension and adjust control cablesMeasure parts for wear, using precision instruments if requiredAssemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessoriesCarry out operational tests of engines and aircraft systemsAbility to provide solutions for defects while carrying out repairsSign off on own work and the work of others where endorsed/qualifiedComplete assigned tasks in a timely mannerClear up log book snagsTake responsibility for quality of own work and fix mistakes where required and with minimal reworkDocumentation & Administration
Ensures appropriate documentation for his/her own work is completed accurately and on time and submitted to senior AME or Shift Lead for ACA approval as required for ACA approval in areas where they do not have an endorsementSources required technical information in maintenance manuals in an accurate and timely mannerAbility to complete M3 processes and procedures correctlySafety
ing safe work practices in all job duties, including:
• Wearing all appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Understanding and applying the Risk Management System
• Understanding and applying Health & Safety Policies
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards and cleanliness
• Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft
• Understanding and applying Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
Developing Others
The AME-M uses his/her own technical knowledge and experience to provide training and development to apprentices in the areas of Technical, Safety and Documentation by:
• Communicating required information and testing for understanding
• Being open and available for questions
• Acting as crew resource for company information
• Role modeling professional conduct and positive customer orientation
