Position: Good Shepherd Shelter Support Worker
Make a difference in people's lives as a Shelter Support Worker with Good Shepherd! This role focuses on providing essential support to unhoused individuals using a trauma-informed approach.

This position involves working Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, with potential weekend and overnight shifts as needed. Candidates should possess a commitment to hospitality and quality, along with knowledge of issues related to homelessness, mental health, and substance use. A strong understanding of gender-based violence and trauma-informed care is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency shelter for unhoused male identified individuals

• Support clients following Housing First principles

• Maintain professionalism and excellent communication

• Directly engage with clients for their comfort and safety

• Develop personalized counseling plans while managing a caseload

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in social services or lived experience

• Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Valid CPR certification and conflict resolution skills

• Commitment to anti-racist practices and understanding of workplace health
