Position: Family Support Worker at Good Shepherd
Join Good Shepherd as a Family Support Worker, dedicated to enhancing dignity and self-determination for families. Provide critical support services while embracing flexible shift options at our Family Centre.

This role requires a post-secondary education in Social Services, with a preference for candidates experienced in residential settings. Your responsibilities will cover various aspects, including crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and assisting with housing solutions. You will also ensure the safety and cleanliness of the shelter while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support service users with assessment and housing case management

• Conduct hourly facility checks for safety and security

• Maintain cleanliness in common areas and prepare units

• Facilitate long-term housing success through advocacy

• Respect confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Social Services or related field

• Minimum one-year community outreach experience

• Knowledge of issues affecting families including homelessness and mental illness

• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

• Certification in CPR or willingness to obtain
