YWCA Hamilton seeks two advocates to support clients residing in Transitional Living. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and experience in crisis management. You will conduct intake assessments and facilitate both individual and group programming to empower clients and enhance their living skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake meetings and assess client needs
• Collaborate with clients to facilitate independence plans
• Maintain records in line with YWCA policies
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling
• Communicate with community agencies for referrals
Requirements:
• 2 years college in social work or related field
• 1 to 3 years experience in crisis management
• Experience with women facing multiple barriers
• Willingness to obtain police check and certifications
• Knowledge of harm reduction strategies
