Specialized Social Worker Position

Join the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre as a dedicated Social Worker focused on inmate rehabilitation. Engage in meaningful counseling and development of treatment strategies as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

This role seeks a registered Social Worker with either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. You will manage crisis assessments, group counseling, and customize rehabilitative treatment programs to address complex needs. Your proactive approach will be essential in facilitating successful reintegration into the community for female offenders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bio-psycho-social assessments and reports

• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions

• Design and deliver effective rehabilitative programs

• Explore community resources for offender support

• Evaluate program outcomes and effectiveness

Requirements:

• Active registration with Ontario College of Social Workers

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work

• Knowledge of rehabilitative treatment theories

• Ability to liaise with diverse populations

• Strong organizational and planning skills
