How You Will Make an Impact

Youth Services provides support to 15 co-ed homeless youth ages 16-21 as well as a 21-bed youth shelter, including youth who have ongoing contact or involvement with CAS/CCAS/Probation/Youth Justice System/AY/ADGS and other family counseling agencies. Staff members support clients to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life in the community.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission values rooted through Hospitality of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity
  • Be aware of and sensitive to the issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and developmental disabilities
  • Enhance the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for cleaning services
  • Clean facilities for our Youth facilities
  • Maintaining adequate supplies related to cleaning
  • Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
What You'll Bring to Our Team
  • One year cleaning experience in a residential facility (preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity
  • Experience working with the homeless would be an asset
  • Certification in CPR or a willingness to be certified is also required
  • Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset
