Counsellor - Outreach MITT

The Counsellor –Outreach (MITT) provides an intensive in-home, and community intervention based on evidence-based practices. The Counsellor – Outreach (MITT) works towards treatment readiness, through intensive, on-site intervention to assist families in developing mutual goals that may include but are not limited to new/improved problem-solving skills, improved communication, regulation, and behaviour management. This position is a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour workweek using flex time for after hours appointments.

• Social Service or Child and Youth Worker Certificate;
• Ability to work independently and deal tactfully and effectively with youth, families and service providers;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Work experience in community outreach and crisis intervention programs;
• 2-3 years practical experience with adolescents and families;
• A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within the last six (6) months;
• Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
• Experience working with the Aboriginal community is an asset;
• Valid Driver’s License, able to supply own vehicle and be insurable to drive in Ontario;
