Join Good Shepherd’s Dorothy Day Place as a Housing Advocate. Lead the support for women and gender-diverse individuals experiencing housing challenges through empowerment and dignity.
In this role, you will engage with clients in low-barrier permanent supportive housing, providing critical emotional and educational support. With a focus on harm reduction and client-directed care, you will work within a feminist, anti-racist framework, ensuring cultural safety and inclusivity for all individuals served.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate to create tailored care plans for clients
• Offer education and counseling on harm reduction
• Participate in complex planning meetings for client support
• Ensure a supportive and safe environment for participants
• Engage in health and safety protocols as required
Requirements:
• 1-year experience delivering client care
• Relevant post-secondary education
• Familiarity with anti-oppressive, anti-racist practices
• Experience in the housing sector
• Valid CPR certification or the willingness to achieve it
