Join YWCA Hamilton as a Job Support Counselor. In this temporary position, you will assist job seekers in overcoming barriers through targeted employment support during a weekly 37.5-hour schedule.
This role involves providing comprehensive counseling and coaching to individuals seeking employment. You will assess client needs, develop personalized action plans, and facilitate job placements through partnerships with local employers. Your work will contribute significantly to building more inclusive communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate resume and interview preparation workshops
• Conduct individual assessments and create job action plans
• Track client engagement and report on outcomes
• Collaborate with employers to develop customized placements
• Organize group training sessions related to job maintenance
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years in counseling or career development
• Educational background in social services or human resources
• Current Mental Health First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work on-site with flexible hours
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
