Service Coordinator at YWCA

Make a difference as a Service Coordinator with YWCA Hamilton, supporting women and gender-diverse individuals in need of shelter.

Your role focuses on crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and providing critical resources.

This temporary position offers an opportunity to work up to 14 hours per week. You will directly impact the lives of marginalized individuals facing homelessness. Utilize your skills in crisis management, social work support, and community liaison to create change in the housing and gender-based violence sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling

• Conduct initial assessments for clients accessing services

• Liaise with community partners and service providers

• Advocate for clients and offer referrals

• Maintain confidentiality in handling client information

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Social Work or related field

• Experience in crisis management and trauma-informed care

• Knowledge of Hamilton’s social housing system

• Excellent communication skills in English;
French is an asset

• Must provide or obtain a vulnerable sector police check
