Empower local youth as a Relief Youth Worker with Wesley, a non-profit committed to community support in Hamilton. This engaging role focuses on creating safe, inclusive activities for ages 13-18.
As a Relief Youth Worker, you will deliver in-person programming, fostering engagement and support among youth. This unionized position offers a pay rate of $19.88 per hour and requires flexible evening availability. You will work collaboratively to enhance youth outcomes through social and recreational activities, primarily basketball, and assist in homework and community referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for youth
• Collaborate with Provincial Youth Outreach Workers
• Encourage youth participation in engaging activities
• Role model positive behaviors and interactions
• Attend staff supervision and in-service meetings
Requirements:
• Graduate of Child and Youth Worker or related field
• Minimum one-year experience with youth aged 13-18
• Understanding of multicultural community dynamics
• Strong communication skills
• Bilingual abilities (Arabic, Somali) are an asset
