Your responsibility as a Senior Shelter Support Worker will be to help individuals and couples, even those with pets, navigate their housing challenges. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, you will promote a safe environment and assist residents in developing actionable plans for housing stability. Your expertise in crisis intervention and mental health will be pivotal in this transformative shelter setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist individuals, couples, and those with pets in the shelter
• Deliver housing-focused case management with a Housing First approach
• Engage in crisis intervention and supportive counselling services
• Maintain professionalism and keep necessary documentation
• Foster a trauma-informed, harm reduction atmosphere
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of experience in homelessness and housing sectors
• Educational background in social services
• Strong skills in crisis intervention methods
• Ability to work with diverse, vulnerable populations
• Valid driver’s license may be beneficial
