Youth Engagement Specialist

Position: Youth Engagement Specialist - Wesley
Join Wesley as a Youth Engagement Specialist, providing impactful support to youth in Hamilton. This role focuses on fostering inclusive programming for ages 13-18 while promoting community connections.

In your capacity as a Relief Youth Worker, you'll create a compassionate environment through various youth activities. The position is unionized, pays $19.88 per hour, and requires flexible evening hours. You will connect with youth, provide homework assistance, and encourage participation in a variety of recreational programs, primarily basketball.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cultivate positive relationships with youth in-person and online

• Collaborate effectively with outreach teams for community support

• Inspire youth to engage in activities aligned with their interests

• Actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions

• Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Preferred education in Child and Youth Work or Social Services

• Prior experience working with youth aged 13-18

• Awareness of multicultural perspectives and sensitivities

• Excellent communication abilities

• Proficiency in Arabic or Somali is beneficial
