Make a difference in young lives as a Weekend Youth Support Worker at Good Shepherd's Notre Dame House. This role involves assessment, supportive counseling, and life skills education for youth aged 16-21.
Good Shepherd is hiring a Youth Support Worker for weekend shifts, ideal for candidates passionate about helping youth achieve personal goals. You will support homeless youth through various strength-based programs and work flexibly on shifts that include nights and holidays.
Your role is critical in creating a positive environment for client growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and create support plans for clients
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention services
• Teach life skills, including cooking and self-care
• Advocate for clients and link them to community services
• Participate in health and safety programs and ensure compliance
Requirements:
• Education in social services or related field
• Experience working with youth in a support role
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Knowledge of residential treatment guidelines is advantageous
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus
