Become a Relief Youth Worker with Wesley, a valued non-profit in Hamilton, Ontario.
This role offers flexible on-call shifts, engaging meaningfully with youth and providing support.
Wesley is seeking two Relief Youth Workers who embody compassion and empowerment. In this unionized position, you will work with street-involved youth, providing essential advocacy and counseling.
Your role will involve covering varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, depending on program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish rapport with youth through a friendly and approachable demeanor
• Oversee the 19-unit program, addressing any issues that arise
• Provide counseling, information, and advocacy to youth participants
• Collaborate with community partners for effective program operation
• Maintain an awareness of social services in Hamilton Region
Requirements:
• C.Y.W. or S.S.W. diploma required
• 1+ years working with street involved youth
• Experience in a residential setting preferred
• Commitment to flexible work hours
• Non-violent crisis intervention training is essential
