Become a vital part of the Canadian Cancer Society as a volunteer driver in the Wheels of Hope program. Help transport individuals to cancer treatment appointments, with a commitment of 3-4 drives per month.
Volunteers are crucial in supporting clients who need transportation for their cancer care. This role involves driving clients mostly during weekdays, ensuring their safety with each ride. A minimum commitment of 6 months is required, creating ongoing support for those in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule client rides for cancer treatment
• Confirm arrangements through direct client communication
• Provide assistance as clients enter and exit the vehicle
• Adhere to safe driving standards and policies
• Collaborate with the Transportation Specialist for scheduling
Requirements:
• Full, valid driver's license with clean record
• Required third-party liability insurance of at least $1M
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check
• Familiarity with online tools for communication
• Commitment to keeping a smoke-free environment
