Summary of Duties
Reporting to the Superintendent, Waterfront Operations, the Trolley Driver operates the Trolley following a designated route and time schedule, and is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated points along the Hamilton Waterfront Trail.
General Duties
Safely operate the Trolley following the designated route and time schedule.
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the trolley to ensure it is in good working order.
Answer passengers’ questions and provide additional information as requested.
Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and any other needs they may require.
Promote the waterfront’s services and encourage passengers to provide feedback and reviews.
Maintain a clean and orderly trolley interior.
Work in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and City policies related to Occupational Health and Safety.
Perform other duties as assigned that are directly related to major responsibilities of the job.
Qualifications
Must have valid class "C" driver’s license to operate a trolley. Previous demonstrated experience as a bus driver is an asset.
Must have a clean driving record.
Excellent driving skills, including the ability to maneuver a large vehicle safely in various road and weather conditions.
Ability to make sound decisions during stressful situations.
Demonstrated strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Possess and maintain current certification in "Standard" First Aid with CPR Level "C" or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment. Certification must be issued by a training agency recognized by the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB). Provide proof of certification upon assessment.
Hours:
0 - 24 per week.
NOTE:
As a condition of employment, the successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (CRC) at their own expense, prior to beginning work in this location.
