Payroll Advisor Salary: £28,000–£33,000

Permanent, Full-Time (36.25 hours) The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join a growing payroll bureau within a well-established accountancy practice. You'll manage your own portfolio of approximately 50 clients, delivering accurate end-to-end payroll services while working as part of a supportive team of payroll professionals. This role would suit someone with payroll bureau experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and is looking to continue developing their technical payroll knowledge and career.

Key Responsibilities Process end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of approximately 50 clients. Input and validate payroll data, ensuring payrolls are completed accurately and on time. Process starters, leavers, statutory payments, tax code changes and payroll amendments. Complete RTI submissions, year-end payroll processes and HMRC reporting. Support Auto Enrolment administration, pension submissions and compliance. Notify clients of HMRC liabilities and prepare BACS payment information.

Liaise with HMRC, DWP, pension providers and other third parties to resolve payroll queries. Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance. Keep up to date with payroll legislation and implement changes where required. Support clients with payroll queries and deliver a high standard of customer service. What They're Looking For Minimum of 2 years' UK payroll experience within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.

Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing, RTI, statutory payments and Auto Enrolment. Experience managing multiple client payrolls and working to strict monthly deadlines. Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and organisational skills. Ability to perform manual payroll calculations where required. Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach. Experience using payroll systems such as IRIS Payroll Professional or Paycircle would be advantageous.
