Regulatory Compliance Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for leading and managing regulatory activities associated with EU Active Substances, substance defense, and related dossiers. The position ensures continuity of key programs and provides strategic regulatory guidance within the EU framework. Depending on final organizational alignment, the role may interface closely with Global Regulatory Affairs teams and support global regulatory harmonization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESA. EU Regulatory Management
- Lead regulatory strategy and submissions for EU Active Substances and defense dossiers
- Ensure full compliance with EU regulatory systems, frameworks, and legislative changes
- Prepare, review, and manage high-quality regulatory dossiers, technical documents, and authority responses
- Act as primary contact for EU regulatory authorities and relevant industry bodies
- Oversee key programs and other priority actives
- Ensure seamless transition and handover from outgoing role holder, maintaining business continuity
- Track timelines, risks, and mitigation plans for ongoing submission cycles
- Work closely with R&D, PMO, Product Safety, Commercial, and Legal teams to coordinate regulatory initiatives
- Interface with Global Regulatory Affairs (if role scope expands), ensuring EU alignment within global frameworks
- Provide regulatory input into new product development, renewals, and strategic projects
- Conduct regulatory assessments supporting substance defense, renewals, and updates
- Interpret scientific data, toxicology, environmental assessments, and use patterns relevant to EU regulations
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready regulatory records
- Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, consultants, and scientific bodies
- Monitor evolving EU regulatory landscape and assess business impact
- Strong, proven experience with the EU Regulatory System, specifically for Active Substances and Defense dossiers
- Demonstrated experience leading EU submissions, regulatory strategy, and compliance
- Scientific background preferred (Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Environmental Sciences or related)
- Experience working with complex data sets, regulatory justifications, and authority queries
- 8+ years of relevant regulatory experience in crop protection, actives, or chemical regulatory fields
- Experience working in a matrixed and cross-functional environment
